Sweet 16!!!

These past 16 years have gone by so fast. Trey, my oldest son, just turned 16 and is a legal driver. I'm so proud of the young man that he is becoming. He is so happy to be 16 and enjoying his new freedom. I, on the other hand, worry each time he drives away.

Dee and Azia Engagement Session

I have known Dee for years and when I think about her I always think about her beautiful voice. She is talented in many ways and I have seen her grow into a beautiful and mature young woman. When I'm talking to her I forget that she is only 21!! We attend church together and she is also my hair dresser.

Dee and Azia were engaged a few months ago and I have the honor of photographing their wedding in March of next year. I'm just getting to know Azia but I can tell that he makes Dee very happy and will make an awesome husband. I can't wait for the wedding and look forward to spending time with this amazing couple.

Atlanta Nights

I am so far behind on my blog entries. There has been so much going on. I have had the honor to photograph some amazing people over the last few months and I can't wait to introduce you to them.

With having weddings almost every weekend, it is difficult to just take a Saturday and shoot something for fun. This past Saturday I had the day off and decided to sign up for a photography class. This would force me to photograph something that I don't normally photograph and also to just have some fun with photography.

I wanted to share one of the images that I shot. This is the Atlanta skyline from the parking deck of the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Laura & Kyle

I can't believe my luck. I keep getting the best couples to work with. This is Laura and Kyle. They are getting married on December 1. Laura is on top of the planning and it sounds like it is going to be beautiful. It is always a good sign when the couple dances in the park and has a good time doing it!! I know the wedding is going to be amazing because they are an amazing couple.

Tagged: 8 things you might not know about Tammy

I was "Tagged" by Delaney to reveal 8 things you might not know about me. Photographers who are tagged, reveal 8 things and then tag other photographers to reveal 8 somethings about themselves.

Here is mine....

1. I feel that my greatest accomplishment was becoming a mother. I'll never top that one. Giving birth doesn't make you a mother but building a relationship with your child does. Matt, my 10 year old, asked me the other day if I was his best friend. I asked him if he wanted me to be his best friend and he said yes. You don't get a manual with children so every stage is a learning process but hearing something like that makes me think that I'm getting a few things right.

2. I think the best gift that you can give someone is laughter. I lost one of my best friends this year and she was the queen of laughter. You would know where she was in a crowded room because everyone around her would be laughing. That is a beautiful sound. Making someone feel good even if it is only for a few minutes is priceless.

3. When I was in the 5th grade I won my first camera. It was a little Kodak 110 camera. I read the most books in my grade. I never thought at that time I would be a photographer one day.

4. That leads to the next item on my list. I love to read murder/crime mysteries. I love the process of digging through the layers to find out who did it. If I get involved in a book, I could stay up all night reading.

5. I am extremely independent – some would say that is a fault of mine.

6. I am the middle child. That might explain number 5 a little bit.

7. I would love to learn to play the piano. I took lessons briefly as a child but quickly learned that I wanted to play the piano and not learn to play the piano. Now that I am older I realize that I will have to put in the work to learn how. That stinks!! But one day I’m going to do it.

8. I never miss out on a trip. My friends joke and say that if the wheels are turning I’m there. I’m scared that I’ll miss out on something so it doesn’t matter – going out to eat, shopping, or just hanging out at a friends house. I’m always there.

Misty & Chuck

Yesterday in Macon we had 100 degree temperatures. I had to introduce you to Misty & Chuck. They braved the 100 degree weather to have engagement pictures taken and didn't complain one bit (or not that I could hear). Their wedding is in a month so we all have our fingers crossed for cooler weather. Even if it is still hot these two are going to be so much fun. They already have a family started. Their two dogs are spoiled and seem to get a lot of attention. Thanks guys for a great afternoon! Can't wait for the wedding.

Katherine & Jonathan

Have you ever met someone and just by being around them you feel better? That is what happened to me today. I had an engagement shoot with Katherine and Jonathan. We had the best time. These guys are so much fun and they made me forget all about the headache that I had on the way to the shoot. Katherine has a beautiful smile that is contagious. You have to smile right back! Jonathan was quite the model and very comfortable in front of the camera. Katherine said she was just following his lead when I told them they looked great together. I can't wait to hang out with them on their wedding day. I wanted to share a few of the pictures from the shoot. I hope this week that I can make someone feel better after being around me.

First Blog

This is the first blog entry for Tammy Chambers. I wanted to post a picture of Trey and Matt. They are my sons and my inspiration during a wedding. I always think "what would I want to remember from their wedding". I know they are only 15 and 10 but these past 15 years have gone by so fast. It feels like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and they will be making plans for that chapter in their life. I know I will want to remember every detail of that new beginning.
